Signed into law in 1990, the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy 和 Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal law, originally known as the Campus Security Act. The act is now referred to as the Clery行为. The law requires colleges 和 universities across the United States to dis关闭 information about 犯罪 on 和 around their campuses. The law is tied to an institution's participation in federal student financial aid programs 和 it applies to most institutions of higher education both public 和 private. The Act is enforced by the United States Department of Education.
To ensure compliance with the Clery行为, Saginaw Valley State University must meet the following obligations:
1. Collect, classify, 和 count 犯罪 reports 和 犯罪统计数据.
3. Publish an annual security report 和 fire safety report.
4. Submit 犯罪 和 fire statistics to the United States Department of Education.

Campus security authority is a Clery行为 term that encompasses four groups of individuals 和 organizations associated with an institution. The four groups are as follows:
Pastoral counselor 和 professional counselors exempt by law.
A campus security authority is required by federal law to report Clery行为 犯罪s or allegations of Clery行为 犯罪s to University Police. Reports can be made by calling University Police at 989-964-4141 or by submitting theCampus Security Authority (CSA) Crime Reporting Form (437KB)
